Havard Posted February 14, 2009 Share Posted February 14, 2009 My Son Ellis had a "Old Wigan" day at school on Friday. The theme of the day was historical Wigan which was famous for it's mining, George Formby and Wigan Pier!! My son was dressed up in grey pants, white shirt, braces, scarf and flat cap for effect, he looked great. We even printed off and laminated pictures of George Formby and the lyrics to the song "When I'm Cleaning Windows!!". All was going well as we arrived at school and all the kids were similarly dressed like in the 1930's and looked great. People were commenting on the George Formby pictures and the lengths we had gone to. It was at this point that I said "I wanted to bring the grilling machine, but it was far too heavy..!!":d Whoosh..... Am I the only the only one that found it funny?? I was blessed with some confused looks for a second and then the conversation went in a different direction...... Is it me or were they just a bunch ot "thick" Wiganers?? H. Unfortunately it happens to me a lot...... Although I do have a lot of occasions where I have made people PTSL, it's the only the times of failure that I remember..... H.
