Single turbo with a tubular manifold, 4inch DP, MP and Boostlogic exhaust. Nothing I've heard compares to the sound of that on a 2JZ, not even close

no thank god :p, i really dont get why people say they sound awesome, imho they sound awefull, try driving one for any period of time, they also draw alot off unwelcome attension, each to their own i suppose :eyebrows:

It's one of the subjects where few will agree, thats for sure!

I did have one on mine and loved the sound (even after 6000 miles), but you're right, they are ear bleedingly loud and even pootling around sound like hell on earth has arrived. Must admit that if I were to do it again it'd be done with a heavily silenced exhaust (like the new owner has fitted), must be getting old :D

Been looking into exhaust notes again recently and iv noticed by watching A LOT of youtube vids that systems which are either 3" or 4" all the way through have a much fuller note to them as opposed to systems that have a stepped diameter. Im currently running a 3" down/mid pipe with 3.5 cat-back and have to say its not a very clean note, sounds very rough and burbly if that makes any sense. Does anybody agree with my theory or am i talking utter tosh..??

i would agree that my stepped 3" down pipe 3.5" mid with silencer --- 4" back box

this is alot deeper and burly almost scooby like, compaired to my 3" straight through, but it make sence as the sound waves get less destorted in a straight pipe vs a stepped

simple physics when you think about it :)
