supspower Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Jus a quick question if any knows the answer to this Tried searching for this but couldnt find anything and if someone does then by all means your welcome to come slap me and call me a naughty boy:p Basically on the NA im getting a tappety noise coming from my 1st decat on to the manifold paste was used to seal these but obviously failed. Jake Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Exhaust paste will work perfectly well if the facing surfaces are sound; clean, flat and grease-free. If they aren't, it won't. Chris Wilson Posted February 14, 2009 Share Posted February 14, 2009 The original set up used "O" rings sat in recesses in the cat flanges, not gaskets. A properly made first de-cat pipe will have ground flat flanges of thick material. Seated against clean manifold faces, with exhaust paste as a sealant,, there should be no leakage issues.
