imi
Hey Guys I am looking for a web server where I can host 3 video files of different bitrates for streaming purposes. Any ideas as to where I can find one (files are in WMV format) Thanks imi

michael
Clarification please - do you want to purchase a webserver? Take out a hosting plan that allows streaming? Upload the files somewhere and have them look after things? Something else?
JustGav
If they are WMV files, then you are looking at using something like Windows Media Server which will provide either on demand streaming or live encoding. Elaborate a bit more and I should be able to give you the info you need. Why WMV out of interest as that will then restrict the playout devices a little bit (not a lot but definitely a little bit) Also what level of quality are you looking at, because you can use flash with codecs and get near HD 720p streaming over a 2mb/s feed. Files are 20/50/75 and 150MB Videos are 20-30mins. Youtube is not an option - doesnt allow long enough videos, I am looking for business quality and dont want to publicize them to the world

Job's a goodun I know this is a contradiction when I say that I dont want to publisize the videos to the world and yet I dont want to password protect it...... Basically, I will use webex to trigger 100 client browsers (from all over Europe) to access the videos from the streaming server; which is why they need to be open access and super fast. imi
