P 17EED
I have got a peugeot 205 1.9 gti which i wanna sell but not quite sure what its worth, does anybody know much about these? Apparently its quite a rare version as its completely standard and is non sunroof. Its also got imaculate original alloys. Its black and the body work is very tidy for its age. Its got half leather interior with red carpet. Its done 98k miles with full service history and its taxed and MOT'ed. I have been told its worth around £2500 but just seems to much to me. Does anyone know about these or are interested in buying it?

Chewie
I had one from new back in the 80s. The differential packed in at about 80K. It overheated. I had to drive it once at 45 mph from Gatwick to Swindon with the heater full blast and all the windows open to keep it cool. Otherwise brilliant car. Worth no more than 10p. P 17EED
So it's not a limited edition then? Dont believe so, its just rare to find them without sun roofs apparently. Dont know much about them.
Todd
Have a look on pistonheads, if it's as described then £2500 isn't far off the mark, depends how quick a sale you want and how much it's worth to you.
Guest Angry Koala
Hi mate, I had 2 of these and my Dad had 2. I've also got mates who have rallied several versions. If you've got a raft of paperwork, service history, old MOT's etc that prove the mileage (it looks to be genuine from the condition), then I have seen them go recently on ebay for upwards of £3k. Granted we're talking minters here. The non-sunroof version is prized as it can easily be converted for road rallying or track use without having to weld a plate in. If it's a genuine 1.9 (ie didn't start out as a 1.6) then it is rare as most were fitted with the sliding sunroof. How's the underside? Is the floor of the boot wet (ie under the carpet) as this is a common problem and can lead to the arches rusting from the inside out? Has the rear beam axle ever been upgraded to the 309 one or is it the original standard item (if so has it ever caused you a problem? If everything's ok with these known fault areas and all the electrics work well then I would hold out for between £2200 and £2500. All the best for a quick sale at the price you want - tough at the moment but have some patience with it and you'll get what you're after. Chewie
The OEM sunroof was a ghastly Heath Robinson contraption. There wasn't much space between the roof lining and the shell to conceal the sunroof mechanism so they put it all on the outside, two massive sliding rails. It leaked continually when some chavs jumped on it and bent the roof.

Ok, thanks for some good advice, i will have to study all the paper work tomorrow. The boot floor is dry and i believe its always been a 1.9. I havent owned it long, not even really used it. Theres a few on ebay too, Id say maybe 1300 to 1500. Id love to buy it, used to own a 309gti and what a hoot that was. Make me an offer then??!! stevie_b
I really like the look of that. Quite an iconic car in my eyes. The later small Peugeots tried to re-create the 205 feel, but from what I've read never really managed it. Being stock must surely count in your favour. They're probably worth 10p as a chavved up, ragged out car, but not in the state that yours is in. For price info, I'd have a look in the classifieds of specialist car magazines in a newsagents. I think they're might even be one dedicated to Pugs.

P 17EED
Still quite un sure what its worth, get alot of mixed response about it. Have to search the newsagents for a specialist 205 mag i think.

tomgeer
brilliant cars, I once had one. My mate sold his limited edition one on ebay for £1100 last year but it wasn't in good condition to be honest so you should get a bit for it, people want to buy them to take them back to their youth, I bought an xr3i in November.
