Andy-No-Knee
Ok, now before I go running up there to buy some, what does that mean in Engerlish??? I'm not trade, just Joe Smow who wants some for my loft. Is it any good??
The Raven
Yeah its ok, As i said the current standards say, You should have 4 inches in the loft then 6 inches cross laid for the best results hence its no good to me. You could just dump 200mm in the loft wouldnt be as good but would still be better than 4 inches or nothing.
michael
They have only put 200mm on offer which is no good to the trade what so ever. Poor trade
The Raven
Poor trade Tell me about it! i had 3 vans down there today ready to clean them out! Such a waste of diesel.
Supragal
No offence mate but i do this for a living. If you have the benefits listed below its 100% free in the scheme i use regardless of who the gas supplier is. • Income Support • Housing Benefit • Council Tax Benefit (This does not include single occupancy reduction) • Disabled Persons Tax Credit • Income-based Job Seekers Allowance • War Disablement Pension (must also be in receipt of Mobility Supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance) • Attendance Allowance • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (must also be in receipt of Constant Attendance Allowance) • Child Tax Credit (and with an annual income of less than £15,592) • Working Tax Credit (and with an annual income of less than £15,592) • Disability Living Allowance • Pension Credit • Over 70’s If you claim any of them you shouldnt be paying a penny. Yet every single person I know who fits into one of those categories has FAR more expendible income than me. Nice.
Supragal
I am confused though. I know this needs doing as it was picked up on my survey. My loft has a section down the middle that is boarded that I keep stuff on, then the edges are just fluff (but not enough fluff apparently) Do I just get more fluff and put it on top of the old fluff? Matt H
Do you not think that Jamie and 8 friends went? 9 x 15 = I was presuming he wouldn't flaunt the system and allow it to be used for how it should have been intended, so in the future these things can be continued to be offered, instead of them having to be stopped due to abuse. Supragal
LMAO @ fluff. yes just get more to put over it So I just run it in lengths between the joists like the existing stuff is? How do I stop it sticking up above the level of the joists or so I not care about that? Do I need some kind of anti-itch outfit? God I hate going in my loft at the best of times. This is not appealing greatly I have to say!

If it does come level then put another layer over the whole lot (joists and all) perpendicular to the joists. Wear a disposable paper suit, gloves, boots and goggles... also a dust mask as you DON'T want to be breathing this stuff in..... you know how it itches your skin, imagine it in your lungs! Took me about 2 hours for my end of terrace.

Took me about 2 hours for my end of terrace. Wouldn't that make it difficult to see where I could then walk if I cover the joists with it? Do B&Q do the suits too? Argh I can't believe I'm even considering this, but I am fed up with NEVER being warm and having to wear 2 layers of clothes in my house all the time.
