Yep. Well, not just me on my own of course :)

Wow.. OK, spill the beans..! :D

What did you do? How long did it take to develop? How big are the development teams? do you split the project up and how? Was it an in-house development you built and then went out and sold? or was it a job that came in?

Sorry for the barrage... I'm just really interested in how these projects work. In another life this is what I would have liked to get into.. if I had an ounce of artistic talent that is :p

It was only last night me and a mate were banging on about UK development studios being the best :)

I also look forward to kicking muffleman, TDR and Trig had to get that in there too :D

Tee hee hee... I seem to recall me having epic death battles with muffleman whilst you brought up the rear :eyebrows: :p

His Evo was sweet but I decimated all with my modded F40 and CLK-GTR :D

Need to play us some more Forza2 - It's still the best IMO. Race Pro I won't buy because of the dodgy reviews but I do like the concept of having to do a hot qualifier lap to determine the grid online.... imagine trying to put in the perfect lap whilst your mates harang you on the headset trying to make you stuff it! :D

Forza 3 is my must buy for the year, can't wait for that to come out :)

Cheers,

Brian.

Well, I can't say too much - trade secrets and all that. :taped: :)

I was on the programming side of things, running the gameplay team. The replay system was one of my biggest contributions to the game. Probably took about 18 months to develop (code-wise - art tends to start earlier)

Team size was about 30 programmers, all in-house. Add in the art teams, designers, QA, production etc. and it's well over 100.

It's all hard work but massively rewarding and great fun too!

'Was' meaning you no longer work for Codies? If you still work there I guess you don't take your car in very often, I would have seen it by now. :p

'Was' as in I'm not working on GRID now. I'm still at Codies and I take the car in every day (I get to work about 8am and work til at least 6pm, so you won't see me if you head that way at 'regular' hours :))

I'm Lead Programmer on DiRT2. Definitely can't say any more than that :D
