Race Pro - Xbox 360, worth looking if you like Forza

Well it looks to me as if the level has been raised! :D

This will be far more simulation then Forza was. (been developed by simbin who are top on PC simulation games) Flags are included and 12 player multiplayer.

the vid below shows what to expect. (it is in HD so some PC's may struggle)

I have to agree tracks arent that amazing. although Imola and donnington is good. Some good DLC coming i think. One thing that i thought was good is online is you can qualify. Everyone gets a hotlap by themselves when the game is launched.

I also look forward to kicking muffleman, TDR and Trig had to get that in there too :D

I love forza 2 so ill be able to give you honest opinion but simbin's PC simulation racing games are the best around.

I enjoyed Forza 2 as well, the unrealistic tracks did ruin it though.

I'm tempted to pick up a PS2 with GT4 and a Logitech G25 just so I can learn the european tracks. I've looked at some of the simbin titles of the PC too, though I didn't enjoy them too much with a pad (and there's no stock Supra!).

Really ? Oh, must be different to Forza2 then :p ;)

That settles it, must send my eggbox off for repair - old three lights of death a couple of months ago

yea it is...no stupid highly tuned Evo's :D

You can tune the car but not do all that upgrade performance stuff. Which is good because i like my cars to have understeer more then oversteer.

Also it will actually have flags...so you'll be black flagged within 2 corners then. :D and trig wont even make it down the straight :rlol:

Just got this months copy of GamesTM and they slated it... 5/10

Apparently the engine noises are annoying and the actual game progression is really limited... the closing comment was that they hope this 'hiccup' doesn't mar the developers reputation (in relation to the PC stuff).

I'll still probably get it... but Games are usually spot on :(

Hmmmm, might have to wait and see then.

Racedriver Grid on the PS3 rules for me right now. Even Forza 2 hasn't come close.

Yeah have to admit I like Grid

I haven't bothered with Grid yet...

I downloaded the demo way back when and found the cars to be a bit 'floaty'... you all obviously rate it so I think I might have a dabble now :)

I loved it. Every car has such distinctive characteristics. The drifting had me completely hooked as well. It's quite 'arcade' but with all that it's monstrously good fun.

Filled a gap until GT5... although I enjoyed it so much I've completed it so I'm just trying to beat records now.

GRiD is VERY good Mike. I was left with a sour taste after trying the Demo too, but borrowed the game and it's fantastic (played it to death and pretty much completed it before giving it back) - I've actually missed having a racing game so much I've bought myself a copy, and I'll start afresh. :D

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been playing Race Pro a bit and it's not great. The engine sounds are poor. This doesn't matter too much as you have to turn them down a *lot* to hear the surface sounds in order to know if you're on the edge of the grip. Even with all the driving assists off the handling feels odd, snapping back to centre when it really shouldn't - as if there's still some kind of steering assist going on. Really disappointing after the GTR games on PC. They've managed to accurately re-create the dodgy collision physics from the PC series though :)

I'd be *very* interested to hear reasons why people didn't like the GRID demo compared to the full version though (feel free to PM if you don't want to take this thread too far off topic). Glad people have enjoyed the game though

I played the demo of grid and thought it was quite poor , the handling of the car was more akin to a boat .

But...

I really wanted a shot of the drifting so i ordered if off Amazon at the begining of the week , i hope it arrives today :)
