Jellybean
i think it more of getting a new ball joint you have to buy the whole wishbone as well
gavin.starr
im pretty sure it was done on a transit van or even the renault master van i cant remember what it was on now. ill ask him and find out. even if he could do it for the supra i dont know where he would find replacement balljoints on there own as the only ones i have come across is as afull wish bone. gavin.starr
i was thinking it cant do the oint much good as you would have to force the ball out of the socket which in my opinion would open it all up for more play

DannoSupra
Some ball joints are heald by bolts to the wishbones so they are interchangable
gavin.starr
it was a cryo insert one where they freeze it and then insert it untill it warms up and expands into the joint.
Jellybean
But to get the a new ball joint you have to purchase a new wish bone too
Dnk
i had mine changed about 4 months ago. the car doesnt feel the same anymore, feels even worse. Which arms have you changed ? if youve changed the lower arms on either the front or rear it'll need the camber and track re setting If you want new ball joints on a mkiv then its new wishbones im afraid, followed by getting the geo done Edited February 10, 2009 by Dnk (see edit history)

Was the steering wheel straight before ? if so then the tracking is definetly out. You dont really need a specialist to do this although i used one as i'd changed everything. bodilx6
I've had expiriences with it being a bit difficult to find a garage to do the geo setup on the supra due to tire size. And I'm stock width with 18" rims. But it shouldn't be a problem. Fairly quick and cheap to get done. 50-100£ I would guess. Thats the price in Denmark at least. But you need to check with them that they have the equipment to do it. Any decent tire fitment shop should do it though.
dandan
Does anybody have an old/unwanted upper or lower arm they would be happy to donate to me. I'd like to look into the balljoint design a little more....
