Gaz6002
Cheers Jamie. Luckily mine is stored in a heated garage but I need some new ones soon anyway. Bloody things grip like hell but last about 5 mins with my driving
Gazboy
I don't mean to sound rude but I assumed it was obvious R compounds have a limited heat range???

little num
dam ive just fitted 275 - 40 - 17 R888 on the rear and 235 - 40 - 17 R888 on the front, costing a small fortune and would be gutted if this happens to mine.

erol_h
I must be stupid because its the first ive heard of it:d same here didnt think it would happen thought all tyres could withstand most conditions but as they say you never stop learning. ilicos
same here didnt think it would happen thought all tyres could withstand most conditions but as they say you never stop learning. Don't forget that R888s are track tyres and are only just road legal. These are not your usual tyres and as such require special handling. Bobbeh
I think its good advice to check your tyres for cracks generally, but as Toyo are specifcally saying these tyres in particular are prone to damage, then best read up! thanks for the post. dr_blackman
My mr2 has been sat on the drive a month or so and not been stored in the garage lately. So I best check my r888's before driving it next I've only used it a few times since my track day back in April lol

kill1308
Yeah same reason I've not put the same tyres back on mine over the winter months, I've put Eagle F1's on for the Winter and will go back to some soft tyres for the warmer weather. Gaz6002
toyo t51 radials . Do you mean T1-R? Because that's Toyo's all-weather tyre. Similar to the Goodyear F1, but not quite the quality (IMO). They will be fine over winter.
