IMO it's a waste of time and money. Info is very hard to come by, all the software is in Japanese, HKS don't seem happy to support it fully in the UK, so re mapping is a major PITA. It's not a proper standalone ECU, just, as far as I can see, another sensor signal fudger. The only Jap ecu worth pursuing, IMO, is an Apexi Power FC, but this is only available for early J-Spec manuals.

It is!!!???? I've never heard that before. What age range? pre-facelift?

I seem to have my facts wrong. Nathan at TDI says on the mailing list that the PRO version is standalone, and the software is in English. It's only available to mainline HKS dealers though, and cannot be acquired for use by the end user. which is very limiting, IMO. Apologies.
