Hi all thought i`d share this with you, i know stock airbox seems to be the best idea for intake from everyones opinion but i never had one so i thought i`d build my own its made from 3 inch pipework andapexi filter, it follows the same route as intercooler pipes. The noise is amazing real rasp at high rpm anyway heres pics dont be to harsh with comments but opinions welcome >>>>>>>> image and where the intake comes out >>>>>>http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn19/w41k3r_1/Photo0032.jpg

just a quick question about air filters.... a few people i know just take the filter off the end of a custom pipe or aftermarket one and say no muck/dirt can get inside as theres no direct contact with the outside. now i think this is complete bollox as there must be particles it can suck in and ruin the engine. does anyone run nowdays without a filter?

I have seen many open turbos, in fact my R32 T88 had no filter when it came in from Japan

Depends where you live. In NM desert my dads car gets covered in dust overnight. Driving is worse!

i think they only do it cos of the sound it makes and maybe 1/2 a bhp more lol. how come birdcatcher blowers dont suck in so much crap then?

its usually done when space is not availible...I had to do this on my twin 45 carbs on my old 205Gti as they were almost on the rad so used ram pipes instead
