w41k3r
Hi all thought i`d share this with you, i know stock airbox seems to be the best idea for intake from everyones opinion but i never had one so i thought i`d build my own its made from 3 inch pipework andapexi filter, it follows the same route as intercooler pipes. The noise is amazing real rasp at high rpm anyway heres pics dont be to harsh with comments but opinions welcome >>>>>>>> and where the intake comes out >>>>>>http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn19/w41k3r_1/Photo0032.jpg

johnd-mkiv
its going to get soaked in the wet mate, might be worth moving it up slightly
Al Massey
Its a long way for the air to travel,
w41k3r
lol im ahead of you i have another pipe that makes it a short ram intake not to much messing around a headlight out then back in and its jobdone thanks for the comments
tooquicktostop
You would be better raising it up as mentioned, in the wet that will get soaked and restrict air flow and you will loose power
w41k3r
Or a k and n dry charger kit anyone used them??? the aem systems work the same on hondas as thats what i had before. gordy.r
Yeah long way for the air to travel . . . would have been better having it closer and making an air feed with the piping IMO. But still some good engineering anyways!
Rich
You would be best sitting it in the inner wing. That would be ideal.
supraspeed
just a quick question about air filters.... a few people i know just take the filter off the end of a custom pipe or aftermarket one and say no muck/dirt can get inside as theres no direct contact with the outside. now i think this is complete bollox as there must be particles it can suck in and ruin the engine. does anyone run nowdays without a filter? w41k3r
in my oppinon utter retards!!!!!!! put a piece of cut out tights over your throttle body then run the pipe with no filter on for 5 mins driving take it off and see the dirt then slap it in there face

Depends where you live. In NM desert my dads car gets covered in dust overnight. Driving is worse!
supraspeed
i think they only do it cos of the sound it makes and maybe 1/2 a bhp more lol. how come birdcatcher blowers dont suck in so much crap then?
