Benyon
My friend wants convert his celica GT import to MPH + de-Restrict it and would it be possible for him to get it clocked Back so that it reads in Mile's rather than Kilometers, I know its not legal to clock the milage back but I got told it can be done at certain places legal too. stevie_b
I think this *is* legal, as long as it's done above board. IIRC, it's the mis-representation of the milesage that's illegal, not the altering of the digits to show the mileage in different units. Your friend would need to get a certificate confirming the display readout before the conversion (i.e. milesage in kms), and after (mileage in miles). Not sure where you'd go for such a service apart from a garage that know what they're doing: it's not like you can look in the yellow pages for "car clockers"! Benyon
Yes well I will tell him he needs to find somewhere that does it. Do you know about de-restricting them?
stevie_b
No idea about de-restriction I'm afraid. I've de-restricted my supra, and I guess the celica could be similar, but it's just a guess.
