penguin
i've not watched all of it, just the first min or so (slow connection) - she looks to be speaking her mind, but when she's talking about human rights, she's clearly overlooked the "wests" record on the subject. What civilised world is she talking about? the one where an obsession of materialism over rides humility? take away the "west and east" banner and you'll find it's the same bollo* no matter what part of the world you go to. Live and let live.
Lbm
I can't watch it, my internet is too slow. I'm sure she makes great viewing, but I'm happy with my ethnical/sociological opinions and don't need to be preached at anyway Fair enough. I don't have any opinions anyway- they're all borrowed
Fifty
OK heres what I think generalizations about ideas and religious groups are pretty invalid, because not all of any group is bad or good - that's the diversity of humanity. free speech is to be encouraged, and criticism, no matter how harsh should be listened to and taken on board. she is extremely articulate and puts her point across very well; her oponent is clearly enraged. Why would anyone deny the Jewish Holocaust? - presumably we didnt go to the moon either lol Rich
Gaz6002
Why would anyone deny the Jewish Holocaust? - presumably we didnt go to the moon either lol Rich Seems quite common these days. A Bishop has been in the news lately doing exactly that. Here's what Wiki has to say on the subject. I can't understand it myself, at the end of the day, millions of people were killed what ever you call it.

Matt H
Live and let live. Isn't that the whole point of her speech?
penguin
Isn't that the whole point of her speech? and how is she doing that? by generalising against a whole belief system?

Matt H
and how is she doing that? by generalising against a whole belief system? There's only one belief and one book of rules, so why not.
Carl_S
I sincerely believe in violence begets violence. If a mob arrived at my door, I would invite them in for tea, or lie down. My ex-muslim friend just left. He surprised me for the second time when he said that there is a KFC just outside the perimeter of the Kaaba. (And a NEXT a couple of mins walk away that sells womens bikinis). Apparently you can see the golden arches from the KFC too.
