how_supra
Is still alive Stuck in the ice this morning in my street (apparently we only pay for the gritters to do the main roads, and have no budget for provision of sand boxes either but hey ho), twenty minutes I found myself moved from one side of the kerb to the other (several buckets of warm water and salt later) One neighbour came out, with a spade and tried to help, pushing me along. A second neighbour came out pushed me along a bit, the other dug the ice up and pushed me. Another twenty minutes later I was free Yay to the neighbours - shouldn't be surprised by this, but I shockingly I am

how_supra
I was indeedy! the power of hindsight - but there we go The main roads are actually ok! It's the housing estates which are death traps - at least they are round here Anyway I can't now get back into my street (the hill is too steep)
stevie_b
The weather seems to bring out that "Dunkirk Spirit" in people! Have you left the car in a nearby road?
NatsupraTT
This is the main road by me the A39,not much different to the lane i live on.
Rich8v
I had to get my sup 20m down two roads to get to a gritted road this morning. It was a bit of a challenge, I have bits of old cut up carpet that i ended up using for traction. No help or me though because it was 4.30am. Snows melted now so the cars back safe on the driveway. how_supra
The weather seems to bring out that "Dunkirk Spirit" in people! Have you left the car in a nearby road? Yes, in layby on the mainish road to my house (at least one the gritters bother to go down). Fortunately there's a footbridge not 10 meters from my front door, which goes over the layby where my car is - so it's close.
how_supra
This is the main road by me the A39,not much different to the lane i live on. That's shocking. Where I am, it's carnarge in the estates - cars sliding all over the place. Speaking to my neighbours this evening when I tried to get back into my street, cars were sliding down the hill and knocking into bins etc - on the main road its a see of calm. Weird I had to get my sup 20m down two roads to get to a gritted road this morning. It was a bit of a challenge, I have bits of old cut up carpet that i ended up using for traction. AndrewOW
Well if you were dressed like you are in your avatar, no wonder people rushed out to help you! Careful now, you don't want to catch a chill! Ah the A39. I do like that road, normally. It's got some lovely scenery around it.

miko_supra
Christ id never take the supra out in this weather. I crashed my peugoet into a wall yesterday. The whole thing seemed to take about 5 minutes from the moment of loosing grip to actually hitting the wall at 5mph

For the first time I realised why some of you guys put the supra away for the winter.

Charlotte
I love it when people help each other. It's funny because it's normally people that you've never even met before, despite them living in the same road.
Supragal
Well, I spent half an hour trying to get my car off my driveway. Later I spoke to one of my neighbours who said "I saw you struggling earlier... " Oh nice, you saw and just, what, watched?!

Later I spoke to one of my neighbours who said "I saw you struggling earlier... " Oh nice, you saw and just, what, watched?! Charming A taxi turned up, but couldn't get past me, so turned around and parked up. Then he shouted over to ask if I was stuck! At this particular moment, I was stood with bucket full of hot water with a spade by myside - I wasn't standing there for my health. But that's what I expect nowadays. P 17EED
This is why my supra is tucked away for the winter!!! just another month or 2 should do it.
Supragal
In fairness though, all of my neighbours are between 65 and 90+ so I suppose I can't really expect them to toddle out in their slippers to help me and my giant car...
Pot
I was stood with bucket full of hot water with a spade by myside I read 'with bucket' as 'in a bath'... No idea where the spade came into it!... Fair play though, it's great to see your neighbours helping out like that, at my place I know there's no chance of that happening, I don't even know the names of the 2 lads who live across the hallway from me even though I spent oven an hour helping their landlords, and then the locksmith get them out when they were locked inside one time! Pot
You should send them a valentine card just saying "no need to thank me, I do it out of the goodness of my heart" I was thinking of using my offer of a size 11 boot to open it, technically they didn't turn me down (Just 'OK - We'll call the locksmith')
GreaseMonkey
Yesterday and Today I decided to walk the 8 mile round trip to work instead. Rather than the hassle of me or someone or thing else damaging my car or being stuck in a traffic. Like you, my housing estate were I live was completely snowed in and would of required a pick axe to get the grit out of the grit bin as was solid lol!. Took me about 40mins to get to work. Found it a nice change to walk and didnt find it that cold when it chucked it down with snow on me this morning.
