dandan
Mine is going ok so far, done about 8000miles or so and looked ok about 1800miles ago. Jamie seemed to have a good one too - maybe their quality control is bad with a percentage of duff ones coming out amongst the rest. It is definitely a clutch with a poor reputation though. Sorry for the grief you are having with it Racman
Gaz6002
Mine's still working after over 10,000 fairly unsympathetic miles on a single.
Luxluc
I have mine on my Single since 2008 .. has always worked very nice.

Steve
Did you try changing the slave cylinder to the one recommended by Rinus? Part number for the N/A 6 speed slave cylinder is 31470-14070.

fuldhat
After getting my Southbend Stage 3 clutch.. is the same problem, though it will fully release, when pressed all the way down. But is still hard to get into 1st and reverse. Everything was changed, clutch, flywheel, bearings, snaprings, bolts. So are going to order this slave cylinder and see if that helps. But it seems the supra, was not made for changing clutches.
Chris Wilson
It's nothing to do with Supra per se. It's, as far as I can tell, down to some kits using re faced pressure plates that change the kinematics of the clutch geometry. My kit releases fine, so do the Giken ones. Don't blame Toyota, blame cheapskate clutches. There should be no need to re engineer the release mechanism!!!
fuldhat
Alot of talk have been on the RPS clutches about this issue, but nothing on the Southbend and alot are using them. With Evos, 200sx`s, audi s2, Bmw M3` s, I have never heard any trouble with clutches even if you are using "different" brands, but the supra just seem to be very very picky about what works and not. Kirk
Dont suppose you offer any uprated clutch for an NA do you chris?
Chris Wilson
I don't, no, sorry. But if I was sure the demand was there an uprated new cover could be feasible. Organic plates are where you need to be for a "nice" clutch. Cerametallic are circuit race only, really.

fastcar
I have a row street max and is the same. Has been ever since I had it. Looks like will be getting changed soon then. Didn't realise they are a bad name.
fuldhat
After change of the recommened slave cylinder, the problem is still the same, though maybe 5% better, and the bite point is more on/off now. I think it was the same, that where already fitted, since all the numbers on it, was the same.
fuldhat
After some weeks of use, then its gotten much better, after the change of slave cylinder. So now the clutch works fine.
