I think that if you're going for a widescreen- put it on the wall if you can Here's the link to my aforementioned serving suggestion: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TH-37PX8BA-37-Widescreen-Plasma/dp/B001MJ0J7C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1233516033&sr=1-1- This comes with a pedestal stand btw. Axle
Even with stand, I wouldn't say that was a particularly good deal. Tell him you you’re not prepared to give him more then £400 for it, then it would be a decent deal. Go into some Comet or Electronic stores and they are practically giving stands away with the TV’s. Still for an extra £23 (or 26 Euro) you can get a brand spanking new with warranty panasonic 37"...nevermind

Carl_S
I don't rate LG highly at all, and size wise a few inches here and there don't count, it's quality and staying power that really count.
Scott
Hmm so a year old TV that is already an older technology model is going for 500 euro's? Doesn't sound like a bargain to me. LG are the same panels as sony with different "packaging". Sony panels aren't the best but they are decent enough. Save your money and buy a panasonic as already suggested. Either save a bit more dough and get the 42" or just get the 37". You won't notice that much of a difference.
ClaireRZ-S
Well i've had a look around and the latest LG model here is going for about 750 or so. They were probably cheaper around xmas but haven't seen them as cheap since. If the tv works and saving me a few quid then to be honest i dont mind.
