Importing Supra's

Recommended Posts

Looks as though after March we'll be able to have 2000> Supra's/RX7's/GTR's etc imported over here without issue. :D

The new IVA is getting rid of the ESVA and the ten year rule,

HOWEVER the new IVA test is easier than the ESVA to comply with AND no model report is required!

Emissions will be a criteria, however engine does not have to be standard, as it doesn't comply to the model report...

If only the exchange rate was better :(

They will also hit the high road tax band, so £400 (currently) per year, but that is planned to increase significantly.

Yup, that is true, however there were rumours of suspending the rise of tax due to the recession... But that remains to be seen.

Will still be good for those who couldn't import the later shapes and wanted to...

IMO for anyone who is thinking of running a car like those mentioned, maintenance will out weigh tax costs by a fair bit anyhow.

The ten year rule still applies according to the documentation in that link.

It says that IVA is mandatory for passenger vehicles (M1) from 29th April 2009, unless the vehicle already has an approval certificate, is a 'Special Purpose' vehicle, or is more than 10 years old at the time of application.
