sz, can you convert to turbo

hello, i am new to the whole supra thing, and i am away to buy one, but i still havent made up my mind..TT or non T??

 

if i bought a sz and felt the need for more power at a later date is it possible to convert to a single turbo?? if so who can do it and what price about??

You can convert, but usually the cost is higher than if you wanted a stock TT to start.

 

However, usually people throw on a big single turbo conversions and really modify the car rather than putting standard twin turbos on.

If you fully expect to go big single the logical choice is to go for an N/A as its initial cost outlay is significantly lower and if you buy a TT you'll only be throwing the turbo's away anyhow. However one thing to consider is that not many have got ABS so you might find getting an SZ with ABS a bit of a chore. Why ABS everyone is muttering RLTC chap, needs ABS sensors and trust me you will want RLTC with big single power. Speak to tdaxgav about this as he was going to go down the big single on an N/A route.

As I said earlier have a good look around for one with ABS on allready as retro fitting it will be a pain if you want traction control and you will want traction control on a 500 bhp plus monster to start with.

 

Also the N/A auto-box is really pushing the limits around 350 bhp so if you don't want to spend out on a box look for a manual some of the later N/A's had six speeds in them.
