Animal
I've just been out for a smoke and there seems to be a tape of BNP propoganda being played over a lousdpeaker somewhere, telling us to 'keep Britain free' and 'stay out of the European Union' No idea where it's coming from, I'm on an industrial estate in the middle of nowhere. Odd.

Animal
I'm just outside Whitehaven, in Westlakes. I lived in Cockermouth for 3 years and that was hell. I think the people get worse the further west you go.
d4rr3n
Cockermouth people like to keep themselves to themselves... I live in workington because I'm working at sellafield. You got the soup up here, think i saw you on the m6 last friday at one of the services.
Animal
Workington is possibly the best place out of the lot. It has real shops and everything. What are you doing up at Sellafield? I'm working for Atkins at the minute, still waiting for my P4 pass to come through. Yeah, I'm in the Supe. It would have been Killington Lake I think last week. Just stopped for a pee. d4rr3n
Yeh I think it was, i was going to pick up a car for a mate so wasn't in the supe. I'm working for sellafield ltd in one of the technical departments on their graduate scheme. I think the lakes roads and the cheap prices of everything are the only things keeping me sane tho! Will you be going onto site when you get your P4 then?
Animal
TBH, I'll probably not be sent to site that often, I'm in the drawing office, so might get sent out with an engineer to assist in site surveys or something. Mostly, it;s just so they can say I have clearance to work on the drawings.

RedM
There are protests at some refineries about foreign workers. Are you near one? http://news.bbc.co.uk - lead item at the moment.

Paul
Look after our own first, any jobs left over then fine. Shame it takes a recession to wake people up, case of people turning a blind eye until it affects them. I don't know many that would be happy signing on with their jobs given away to foreign workers, also our economy suffers with all that money going abroad. Actually, I was down my local last night and we have our sad quiz night on that the winning team can win up to 100 pints and out of our corner (6 of us) I am the only one working, the rest have been layed off in the past 2 weeks and the last one just yesterday, all down to their bosses taking on a load of foreign workers to do the job cheaper (they were all shopfitters and refurbished pubs) so basically they have adopted a pretty biased view of most things "foreign" at the moment

supraspeed
The problem is bosses now know that they can get away with paying shit wages to immigrants as its still more that there used to. The typical home grown brit is used to living on a basic wage and now with all this undercutting its causing everyone to adapt to a foreign lifestyle less beneficial than and typical english one. Its typical for some pp to say "poor immigrants living all bunched up together on min wage" but thats what there used to in there countries and now its going to end up with home grown brits doing the same as living goes up and jobs are cut, forcing more people to have to live in smaller places with one another- few of my mates have moved out and forced to share rooms etc. all new jobs should be given straight to the homegrown brit people already here, end of! Paul
How are immigrants to blame for the recession? Me and Paul in a BNP thread? never! . I didn't and don't believe they are to blame for the recession, however I do think that in these times our own should have a fighting chance of getting back to work first. No doubt many other countries will be thinking the same, the only way to get out of this mess is to keep all earnings within the UK to be spent here and not shipped abroad by foreign workers. Scoboblio
all new jobs should be given straight to the homegrown brit people already here, end of! It's too bad that a lot of the 'evil immigrants' are slaying us Brits on qualifications and education then. I worked with so many non-british people in London it was amazing, particularly Indian and Pakistani. One thing I noticed was that not one of them was ever lazy. That's not a prejudice or anything, just an observation.

That's not a prejudice or anything, just an observation. Many of the recent unemployed 'Brits' are also not lazy but just victims of poor decisions. Unlike in the good times, many will find themselves out of work despite putting in 100%, not all Brit workers are bone idle and only ask the salary they do to live in the society they created (the same one that provides those Indian and Pakistanis with the chance of work).
