jayssupra
Hi guys just bought my first supra a 1993 jap twin turbo 6 speed manual and would like some advice on what to upgrade first and what makes you think are best eg exhaust size and make filter or induction kit
womble
Hello and welcome . How's that for a quick response eh !!! Most common 1st upgrade is a full de cat and a fuel cut cutter which'll allow you to run more boost (a simple bleed valve will do the trick there) also with your car being jap spec you'll probably have to invest in a restrictor ring so as you don't over boost. Chris Wilson (search on here for him) sells these. Make of exhaust is a kind of personal thing as from what I can gather with the mod's I've mentioned the biggest difference you're going to get out of any of them will be noise related more than performance. Personally I went for a HKS Super Dragger as it's not silly loud (sounds soooo much nicer that stock though) and fits quite closely to the underside of the car so clearence isn't an issue either. Hope this helps .

Terminator
Before you rip out the cats get yourself a boost guage so you can see what is going on. JDM cars with out cats can hit over 1.4 bar, with out a restrictor ring. This is fantastic fun but outside the turbo range and soon leads to destruction. Also check the condition of your intercooler before starting to modify the car. If it is the original side mount it is now 12years old, probably long passed its best and not up to coping with higher boost. The first thing I would do is take the car to someone like Chris Wilson (see HERE) who will be able to give the car a thorough inspection and be able to give you expert advice about what mods to do and in what order. Only 'benefit' is the extra noise. Use the stock airbox (which has cold air feed as standard) and either fit new stock filter or aftermarket panel filter. Gordon F
If you have a jap spec car, the best thing you can do, without doubt, is to fit a set of UK spec brakes. They will totally transform the performance of the car.
mr keef
Keep some ££ in the bank for the clutch, when ya start turning the boost up,mine started slipping straight away.got an rps street from envy and its been great ever since.
imi
personally, the first mods I would do would be... Better Tyres...if you dont already have them Better Brakes (brake lines + CW Pads should do, else UK spec brakes) then the breathing mods.
dangerous brain
I'll second what imi says there. Always always fit the slowy down and better grip MODs before you fit goey faster bits, no point in having a faster car if you then write it off because you couldn't stop it.
