patrikbrunt
I dont know about acid dipping on plastics?!?! I used nail varnish remover on my last dash, paired with scotch brite. Did the job pretty well.
Guigsy
I tried white spirit which didn't work very well. I hear nail varnish remover/Acetone (or however you spell it) does the job as well apparently but i couldnt find any that didnt have other crap in it that would react with the paint (vitamins and other shit). I was looking around halfords and spotted a can on graffiti remover in a spray can (white can with red writing). It was reduced so picked it up and gave it a try. After spraying the goo on, spreading it about a bit and leaving it to sit for 15-20 mins or maybe longer the stuff scraped off quite easily. I used the back edge of a craft knife. However i'm quite sure from the smell of it it has reduced my life expectancy somewhat... But at least i have a nice painted dash!

Im currently using a hair dryer and scraping it off, which is taking ages to say the least!
