marc_p
Not forever(your not getting rid of me that easily:d) but for the second night in a row I'm wide awake and feeling like crap, I've not slept for two days now and I've had to take yesterday off work as I felt like poop and not sure if I'll be able to make it in today. Is there anything that might help me get to sleep as I feel tired but just can't sleep. EDIT: cr@p, wrong section, can a mod move to 'off topic' please

Lbm
Have you tried reading? And no, I don't mean resorting to your usual sacred stash of glossies under the bed.
merckx
A bowl of hot cereal, go to bed and count sheep.
marc_p
Well in my random middle of the night search of you tube, I found this, thought it was quite funny http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BtmqcGsuf0U&feature=related
Kranz
I've found hot milk, a break from tossing and turning in bed (no, not the lemsip route again please!) and a sneaky peek on the forum does it for me However, I have to sleep at all sorts of times of the day and night, so I'm normally knackered and can sleep anywhere lol Kalms are supposed to help you get into a good sleep pattern, but they can take between 2 days to 2 weeks to have an effect and you have to take them daily. Hayfever medication that makes you drowsy (Piriton original) works too, but takes an hourt for the drowseyness to kick in

Yup, I usually just get too involved in the book though A bowl of hot cereal, go to bed and count sheep. Only got Frosties and I don't think you can heat them up, tried counting sheep last night, didn't work:(
Homer
Moved and if it helps, a lemsip and a wank is apparently the cure for most ill's On a more serious note If you are awake for that long your body clock is seriously screwed and a single nights sleep will not solve it. I've been there before many times (weekly) and all I can recommend is to have a good lie down, read a good book for a couple of hours, book tomorrow off work and allow yourself enough time to reset your body clock. (not in that order of course). Do not set an alarm, let your body tell you when it's time to wake up and adjust your hours afterwards. Carl_S
To put yourself to sleep temporalily, try any of these: 1) Have camomile tea 2) Read any of my long posts again and again. 3) Get a bit of paper and just write down what is on your mind. 4) Don't drink coke, or coffee, or red bull. 5) If you are taking illegal drugs , stop now. 6) Get a hot stone massage. 7) Drink orange juice. Oh and best call in sick if you don't get any sleep tonight mate.

I've heard of it but don't know what it is. 2)Tried that but it just caused a headache. 3)Might try that, can't do any harm. 4) Nope, been on fruitjuices all day. 5)*Lays down the crack pipe* 6)Unfortunately a lack of hot stones, a massage parlour and a masseuse in my house kinda put's a downer on that one. Carl_S
Think of chamomile as an alternative to your crack pipe. There is something else that will probably work. turn off all lights and electrical equipment in your bedroom, and say "marc p you are going to bed now" lay down, and just stay like that, tossing and turning for an hour or two hour.
