Benyon
Providing this will work im going to buy them soon but I want new standard shockers all round with 40mm lowering springs just to stiff it up abit, will that be ok? I wanted to buy BC coilovers but something came up and I gotta do this a cheaper way.
Chris Wilson
40 mm is a ludicrous amount to lower it, the front and back will be just off the bump rubbers in the dampers. Any spring that's stiff enough to keep it off the rubbers will be far too stiff for stock dampers to control. The kinematics of the suspension will be totally to pot with ridiculous roll centres and camber gains. Disastrous combination, handling wise. Quite why people are obsessed with lowering things into the ground I can't understand, when it just wrecks the ride and handling, and can be potentially dangerous This search for "the look" is pervading every element of UK life, form the size zero woman, incapable of work and reproductively unsound, to the slammed MKIV, aesthetically dodgy and functionally impaired. I'll take my pills later, no worries.....

I had that idea in my head because I read a few people on here have used Tein springs with stock (KYB) Shocks and reckon they had good results. Chris Wilson
Stock or lowering springs that give a maximum drop of say 20 mm at the front and a5 at the rear. Really though, you should fit stiffer springs, which lowered ones will be, with stiffer dampers. I sell re valved Bilsteins to go with my own, stiffer and lower springs, so they match perfectly. Been trying to convey that for years... could never quite find the words thanks Chris:) ps. and agreed on the suspension - have went through approx 4 different spring/shock combos and have to say the present yellow bilstiens + vvti springs are the best so far
Benyon
I was gonna get some BC coilovers fitted but something came up and my cash had to go elsewhere. So rather than saving up a few month I need a cheaper option to replace all four legs, I Could buy standard springs but I wanted a slightly stiffer ride that wont rub on my 18" wheels. These are the shocks I wanted (bottom ones) http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/shock-absorbers-toyota.php And these are the springs http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/lowering_springs_details.php?txtmodel=Supra&Submit=Next&txtmake=TOYOTA The guy on the phone said they will go together but all they wanna do is sell you the damn things.
