martin1982
They just seemed to get the mix all wrong, the special was more of a Sci-Fi drama than a character driven sit com, thats what made the earlier series so good. Altho Lister and the typewriter bit did make me giggle. Part 2 was a complete waste of time...
Alex
I'm glad I chose not to bother - sounds like most people want 90mins of their life back!
SteamAhead
I've still got episode 2 and 3 to watch yet. Don't think I'll bother now. The 1st one was so so, but going by what you guys say, it gets worse Oh well.
R3DG3CKO ROB
I've done a bit of digging on some fan sites and it looks like I should have watched the end of the third episode, Apparently it was all a false reality brought on by a sister to the despair squid! A Joy Squid!!??? (hence the squid they look for and get slimed by at the beginning) and they are still on Red Dwarf? Can anyone confirm this? Also it sounds like 'Dave' wanted to test the water and see if there is enough interest to do a full series???

tbourner
I would definitely not have missed it, I knew it would be pants, wasn't sure if it would be worse than series 8 but I guessed it might, there's just NO WAY I could be such a huge fan and miss any of the episodes - I can't believe people aren't bothering and saying they want they're 90 minutes back, just watch it! Pete
And to ruin the whole thing by making them realise they were just characters was pretty poor. ...but that was the despair squid bit. Making them think they were huge stars, boosting their egos.
AndrewOW
...but that was the despair squid bit. Making them think they were huge stars, boosting their egos. It was still crap IMO
Lee P
The end of episode 3 was better than the rest of it, I thought the first 2 were rubbish but I am glad I watched it to the end. It felt a bit more like the old red dwarf at the end
Ark
Dammit my PVR screwed up the recordings. Anyone know if it's on Iplayer or something?
tbourner
It'll be replayed on Dave at least a million times.
Thorin
Watched it now, they really shouldn't have bothered. I guess now we know which one was the funny one out of Rob Grant and Doug Naylor.
