Hi Brad,

Not sure where you'd get wheels chromed, but to give you an idea about cost a mates bodyshop is doing a restoration job on and old Chrysler and just had a quote for 2 bumpers & 2 headlamp bowls and the guy wants £550 to do it.

Dont know if thats expensive or not as far as chroming goes.

The guy who quoted the bumpers is Nick Webb 07710618563 he's in Worcester but might be able to give you a better idea on cost.

Regards

Apparently there are cheap routes in chroming and expensive routes.

This guy does it the proper way which involves copper plateing then nickel plateing then finally the chrome plating so hence the cost.

Just spoke to the guy who does this and he said at least £100 per wheel.

Send your wheels to Randy then Brad as they will only be about a £10 each plus post and packing. :D

Hmmm . . .this from the man with the understated Veilside kit, yeah? :moo:

Chrome wheels look pretty good IMHO, but I don't know how durable they'd be - they might even last better than conventional wheel finishes?

LOL

Point taken - and I also think chromed wheels look good (certain wheels, certain cars), but they're just far too "cribs" for my taste! Plus I just thought I would try and wind Brad up after all the ribbing I've had about my spoiler....

IMO the Kahns would look better as they are on the Supra. BTW, got any pics yet Brad, or aren't they fitted yet?

I read somwhere that you cannot recome a wheel that has been cromed already. If that's the case I would like to hit a kerb:(

Polishing will look great for a while, but with our weather conditions here in the uk and good old brake dust they will soon look not so good, unless you had them clear laquered after the polishing. (Which tends to dull off the polishing)

I did all my engine casings on my 900 Honda many years ago but after several hours every sunday morning with the solvol autosol ally polish i'd had enough.

We're just having a laugh Matty, refering to the vielside kit as "understated" was having the irony card played.

As me and MPA have a laugh taking the piss outta each otehr. Me for having hovercraft wheels.. and Mark for being 6 and having a vielside kit on his car

Yeah, I was thinking about a black one too.:)

Showed a few people some pictures here in the office the other day.....comments were "You wanna be the new batman" and "WTF is that!". Although, they said they liked it.....probably just keeping me sweet though so I didn't make them get back to work.:)
