Justin
I've copper greased shims etc but thought maybe I need to take out the pistons and seals and rub them with a little brake fluid. Out of the box they have a little cardboard dust on the surface which got me a little OCD about cleanliness. Do people remove brand new pistons and seals from their brand new calipers to lube them up a bit with fluid? Cheers Justin
merckx
If all the pistons and seals are in place like they should be then I would just fit them on the car. The pistons and seals would've been lubed up when they were installed into the calliper. If they're capable of keeping brake dust out, water and all the other dirty stuf on the road then I'm sure a little cardboard dust wouldn't cause any problems. Correct me if I'm wrong. Sound, logical advice that's what I was after thank you.
