you shouldnt need bigger injectors , im running one of my na-ts at 8psi on stock injectors and with the greddy emanage we are getting plenty of fuel in , by the way the set up looks realy nice , that engine bay is begging for a big shiny turbo

You shouldn't need bigger injectors, worse case you could, assuming you are running a tad leaner is put like an Apexi air fuel controller on it.

 

Another worse case, assuming your needing THAT much more fuel, is running stock TT injectors, 440cc or the 550cc.

 

I think the air fuel controller is your best bet....assuming your air fuel readings are indeed lean.

You say you've increased the airflow but you're forgetting what NA actually means - Naturally Aspirated... IE it breathes for itself. I fail to understand how on earth strapping a whopping great intake plenum to the side of the head is going to make the engine suck more air in than it wants to because of the stock other parts homer mentions.

 

Forced induction is the route you should have considered. Then you'd be likely to need extra fuelling. As it stands you won't IMO (but these things should always be checked properly with a wbo2 meter on the car). Then a DECENT aftermarket intake may have helped eliminate a small bottleneck at higher boost levels when the air trying to be force fed into the engine via the intake by the turbine was more than the capacity of the intake plenum itself. You can go forced induction via one of the many aftermarket kits available but for cost effectiveness the best route with a MKIV NA Supra is to do a TT transplant. Why reinvent the wheel - Toyota did this job already!

 

Fail indeed. Check the attitude at the door BTW.

Dude he is trying to help you. Being a mod often means being part of the furniture (no offence homer ) a lot of the longer standing memebers on here have have been there and have the t-shirt. We know what works and what doesn't but if you have already made your mind up then good luck sir I find it more and more funny how newbs get really defensive about there tuning ideas....maybe its becuase supras are getting towards saxo money now and people are thinking they can use there saxo tuning ideas on supras

Why did Toyota end up with the design they did? why is the intake pipework the internal diameter it is?

 

I think they have designed it with torque, throttle response and mpg etc in mind not just outright power.

 

If toyota had been unrestrained by emissions back in the nineties it could have brought out an top spec TT by doing a factory BPU version (less appeal to the masses fuel economy and noise but more to the out and out petrolhead). It's my belief they could have done similar on an NA, Cams intake manifold etc designed for high power at the sacrifice of the performance factors above (and on a NA given a crap/lumpy idle) could have been done (but again no mass appeal).

 

What would be nice to find out here is what are the changes they would have made, and i believe there are few if any people on here that know exactly what things are worthwhile.......

 

NA tuning is not discussed on here at all as has been stated a lot of times the cost effective way of to get more power is the TT option or at least some form of forced induction.

 

I had a little google browse and came up with this interesting thread, and in my opinion if you are really keen on and determined to do NA tuning you'll be better off researching and enquiring on different forums, poss supraforums? as it has a naturally aspirated part of it (please note this is not meant to be taken as please 'f' off to another forum its more that for NA tuning tweaks beyond a decat you won't find much info here).
