bigger injectors for n/a

it now has an 80mm throttle body and a large intake plenum.also air filter is in a position that cold air is forced in.

I cant remember if the NA is MAF based.

If it is, I am guessing you are still on the stock ECU, it should automatically add the small amount if any extra fuel that is needed.

Are you monitoring the AFRs, what makes you think its leaner now?

If you were to fit bigger injectors you would need a fuel controller or replacement ECU, from memory the AEMs have been used on some NA-T conversions.

i thought that the N/A intake was designed that way for the torque?

correct me if im wrong tho

so what benifits would you have with the intake?

i do like it tho

would like to see the results of this tho and the injector Q

I sense fail :D

Your first post Wez was spot on, sometimes a smiley can do more than words. I actually LOL'd at that one, which it pretty rare :D

With the setup you have, wouldn't it be far more suitable to move to a standalone ECU rather than a signal fudger? The NA stock injectors will be more than capable with anything you can throw at it without forced induction.

ok explain youself then

It's been tried many times over the years, both here, in Japan and in the states, but the consensus is the throttle body is not the limitation, it's the head design, the intake, the cams and of course the map. I see you've taken steps to address the intake, but the manifold does not look like a good design, it's enourmous for a start and looks rather boxy (not good for flow). Individual throttle bodies would be a far better route to take if you want to make the most of the NA and a progressive NOS install.

what is the torque standard.be interesting to see what happens .but hey nothing ventured nothing gained

210ib/ft, 220bhp as stock band new. If you can get along to Surrey rolling road you can compare it to results from over a hundred other supra's (NA's, TT's, singles, and others). We have a day booked in May.

BUT not one reply has been to the question posted.

so as a mod you should know better.than to just come in off subject stating i sense fail.

I only asked why you needed the bigger injectors, because normally they arent required in the n/a.

Have you measured the AFR's to see if you do need bigger injectors?

An old thread with an N/A with aftermarket plenum & TB + signal fudger (dyno run included)

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=68218&highlight=intake

Before spending the money wouldn't it be prudent to see what the injectors / fuelling is doing with the current setup. If you look at the link i posted the car made some gains (assuming the dyno run is accurate) but i doubt it is enough to really need new injectors.

I expect with the right ecu you could gain some more power again but £ for £ im not sure if it would be worthwhile unless you have plans for more improvements down the line.

spot on plan is to see what they are doing first, reason for the question is so if larger ones would be of bennefit then i would know what to go for without having to find out first.thus car wouldnt be off the road so long.as for more improvements beeing planned then spot on once again another reason for getting the right ecu set up now, even though power gains will be small.

I already answered your original question, there is no need to change the injectors, they will handle anything you throw at them in NA form.

I might be a mod here but that makes no difference to the input provided - negatively or positively taken. It's only provided from someone who's spent dozens of hours researching this modification route, but if you don't want to discus it that’s fine.

Best of luck with the project :)
