G9RGE
Hi i have a uk auto with full decat pipe, colder spark plugs, and air filter and have just fitted a 4.5 inch cat back exhaust. Just got it fitted and been for a test drive and although it sounds amazing now it doesnt seem to have the power it had before. when the second turbo spun up before it would slightly snake and whack u back in the seat but this seems to have gone now. Could it be that when i fitted the decat pipe i left the little sensor that fits near the second cat out as the pipe didnt have a hole for it, or do i need to fit a boost controller. hadyn
i'd try resetting the ecu, then going for another drive also check all the gaskets etc are in place properly on the new zorst and that its sealed ok
Willson
You need a boost gauge. No point in questioning the results of something that will affect the boost pressure, without one
damouk
i must admit i felt the same way at first then realised the car was quicker on the first turbo than before, although i to have the 02 sensor plugged in
lpher
I think you need to get your 02 sensor connected
G9RGE
cheers gents, i have got a boost guage but i changed it while the car was off the rd having exhaust done, so il put my old 1 back on and see what that says, i was running 0.8 bar before. il reset my ecu and get a mate to fit that sensor, cheers
JohnK
Not refitting sensors just because you dont have a hole is NEVER a good idea. They are there for a reason and unless you know EXACTLY what it is and does you shouldnt leave it off. You have a J-Spec 2nd decat pipe, get a boss welded in it ASAP and refit the O2 sensor. A boost gauge wont tell you everything. Even if you are boosting the same, what are your EGTs and AFR's like??
Terminator
Decats don't do much for UK cars due to the EGR system, you will need a boost controller to up the boost AFAIK
G9RGE
Found the prob, there was a split pipe that i hadnt notice, but now replaced it now has that second surge of power. Tues il get the lug welded on the decat and il start saving for a boost controller. Cheers
dude
I take it you are talking about the 2nd sensor at the back of the De-cat pipes just before it meets the exhaust ????? Dude

Cheers Fit a boost gauge before fitting a boost controller, so you actually know what boost you are making at the moment. You may find you are boosting at 1.1-1.2bar in which case you don't really need to spend the money on a controller. A simple mechanical gauge is the cheapest option and if you want a cheap boost controller fit a bleed valve in the meantime.

dude
Dude, Yeah it is the sensor just before the join for the cat back part, whats it do? Its a second O2 sensor of some sort , never seen a UK with a de-cat that uses it yet but there again i havent worked on that many , 95% of my work are the superior J-specs !!!!
