New Exhaust fitted, lacking power

Hi i have a uk auto with full decat pipe, colder spark plugs, and air filter and have just fitted a 4.5 inch cat back exhaust. Just got it fitted and been for a test drive and although it sounds amazing now it doesnt seem to have the power it had before. when the second turbo spun up before it would slightly snake and whack u back in the seat but this seems to have gone now.

Could it be that when i fitted the decat pipe i left the little sensor that fits near the second cat out as the pipe didnt have a hole for it, or do i need to fit a boost controller.

Not refitting sensors just because you dont have a hole is NEVER a good idea. They are there for a reason and unless you know EXACTLY what it is and does you shouldnt leave it off.

You have a J-Spec 2nd decat pipe, get a boss welded in it ASAP and refit the O2 sensor.

A boost gauge wont tell you everything. Even if you are boosting the same, what are your EGTs and AFR's like??

Found the prob, there was a split pipe that i hadnt notice, but now replaced it now has that second surge of power. Tues il get the lug welded on the decat and il start saving for a boost controller. Cheers

Fit a boost gauge before fitting a boost controller, so you actually know what boost you are making at the moment. You may find you are boosting at 1.1-1.2bar in which case you don't really need to spend the money on a controller. A simple mechanical gauge is the cheapest option and if you want a cheap boost controller fit a bleed valve in the meantime.

Dude, Yeah it is the sensor just before the join for the cat back part, whats it do?

Its a second O2 sensor of some sort , never seen a UK with a de-cat that uses it yet but there again i havent worked on that many , 95% of my work are the superior :looney: J-specs !!!!

Dude
