JohnnyBoy
- Shut up! - No, you shut up! - No, you shut up! - No, you! - ... (Repeat to fade...) Suspension set up and quality is fundamental. Fact. Thanks. Carry on with the thread! It started off really well with good info and concepts regarding tyre dimensions and the impacts on grip with the added comments about the importance of the suspension geometry. Could we please resume? Thanks!

Tricky-Ricky
Not much point continuing with this thread as soon people start getting mouthy, arrogant and taking umbrage, then it inevitably heads for the bin;)

Homer
So he fitted a live axle? Thats a drag car, he will only have one thing in mind, straight line grip for drag racing, not cornering

Homer
Correct. the thread title is `tyre and grip research` The original thread was started to provide some feedback about the grip levels obtained with varying tyre sizes without changing the geometry, it's really valuable to have real world feedback like this. No one is disputing the fact that suspension geometry, spring rate, damper bound, offset, etc, are not factors (they are) but it's good to have 1st hand feedback on various tyre choices on a single wheel and see how they compare. Bringing in drag specific setups has no bearing or relevance to this thread, so I request you move on and let the otherwise interesting and constructive conversation take place. Chris Wilson
Now that IS a lot of rear squat geo! Just the ticket for a drag race car I'm sure but rather specialised for most of us here?
