Space saver wheel, how is it legal?

Ok, should you take your car for an MOT with one on it would fail.

I wonder how the insurance would take it? Ie a crash while running on one? Can the police pull you for it? If not why not?

Was wondering today, after looking at mine and making my mind up that if i was more than 10 miles from home i would leave the Supra and call the AA for a tow.

I have driven round for a week on a space saver when waiting for the new tire to arrive, no big deal as long as you are sensible.

Not sure the MOT covers the width of the wheel on a given car anyway, as long as the tred is at the correct depth :search:

Hmm would it fail due to odd tyres. Which then would make it against the law.

Like i said should you have a crash while having one fitted i wonder if the insurance would kick up
