meph137
Hey all, I've just replaced the driver side window motor and have had to refit the window as such, its playing havoc though! Basically it seems to be a right pain in the arse, either I have it too high (using the blue adjusting bits on the door) and it either a) always hits the hard plastic lip above the door, or b) sometimes hits that lit. If I have it too low the window has a big gap. Plus all the time I'm having to plug my doorcard in and out to use the switch on it to check the window, then wind it down again. Also, however good I get it, it always seems to leak a bit (I throw a measuring jug of water at the top of the glass and a bead dribbles down the inside). Any advice? As I actually used black sealent to re-seal the moisture barrier on after thinking it was all ok, then slammed my door shut (well, not quite slammed) and the glass hit that bloody lip again and didnt close!! GRRR! Any advice would be very gratefully received

meph137
Take the window switch out of the door card Yeh I kinda thought of that, but I'm lazy in a stupid way - i.e. the way that makes me not do things like that even if they save time in the long run. Well, I am after pissing around with a window for ages and its getting dark Oh god, I'm stupid!
Homer
Are you also using the white plastic adjusters at the lower part of the window regulator mechansim? They won't help a great deal with the height but should allow the window to position correctly. I had a similar issue with mine, but don't remember eaxctly what the issue was, think it was solved after starting the car and winding the window up and down with the door shut.. meph137
im kindof using both, the bits on the window mechanism seem to let me move the window back and forward, the blue bits seem to let me change the stop height. I think the problem is a mix of the two. It seems the opposite with me, winding the window down and up when the door is shut kindof messes it up a bit. How much did you tighten the blue bits? I'm doing them tight but it seems a bit vicious!
