AndrewOW
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7836112.stm Very sad. His television programme was one of my favourites when I was a kid. His easy to follow, but amazing style was so fascinating to see.

extendor
Yes, an inspiration for many kids and teachers. He gave people the confidense to try art and he enriched a lot of people because of it. I would say he and Rolf Harris are two great popular artists of our time. I read that Tony lost the ability to paint after a stroke some years ago. He was said to find that the hardest cross to bear in his life. As someone who sketches everyday of my life I can fully appreciate that and it would be my own personal hell to lose the use of my hands as a creative tool. I hope he is now painting and drawing again somewhere. Rest well and I hope one day to say hello in your studio in the heavens.

Chris Wilson
An officer and a gentleman. But a goodly age and a seemingly peaceful end. He was an inspiration to many I'm sure, myself included.
