Homer
whats the top speed on the auto box on a tt. i just want to know what my car will do now iv'e done the single conversion. i never took it that fast when i was on stock twins. It will depend on the spec (UK/JDM), modifications done to he car (if any), rev limit (if modified), the diff and wheel/tyre used. The UK spec has a theoretical top speed of something like 220mph, but it'll never reach it. i have seen a few people running 500bhp+ on autos and claiming 197mph top speed. is this possible or is the final drive the wrong ratio to attain this speed? It'd need well over 500bhp to get to that speed in an auto supra, but it's very much possible. My old 6spd at 545bhp hit the stock rev limit in 6th at 198mph on the GPS (would be about 220mph on the speedo)

den1
As A matter of interest ...what,s the top speed on a normal TT (Unmodified-stock) ? A 1994 GZ TT for example

A 1994 GZ TT for example Can't speak for the auto, but the max I ever got on a stock 6spd was 170mph on the GPS. It took some serious distance to get that last few mph. The auto should in theory be slightly lower, think they were quoted as 168mph officially.
JamieP
On stock wheels a TT auto would do 192 MPH at 7000 RPM and a v160 manual would do 197mph if they had the power to get there. It's definitely 198mph on stock drivetrain, wheels and stock sized tyres for the 6spd It was on the limiter going downhill, she wouldn't give anymore That needed a single tho, there is no way a stock one would get anywhere near that, even bpu'd. den1
So a Stock Supra TT J-spec auto is probably about 160 mph
Homer
So a Stock Supra TT J-spec auto is probably about 160 mph Given enough road it should be able to get a few more mph. Eeek, Class one is viewing this thread
rob wild
On a very long test track I got 166mph GPS out of a BPU auto supra not if that helps
j1mb0b1
At speeds above 160mph, i shoud think the front end will get a bit loose would it not ??.

Chiefgroover
It was on the limiter going downhill, she wouldn't give anymore Downhill and GPS isnt a good mix, I would guess there was an extra few MPH there it didnt read unless you were there for a while. What was the GPS device used?

Guest r34nel
i know your all talkin about supras but ive had my GTT to 165 and it felt like it still had a bit left and that was while it was stock:p i thought with the supra having a slightly bigger displacement this would be an advantage at top speeds?
