Toad Alarm imobilizer

Hi Guys,

i have a bit of a problem with my car, i drove my car to my friends house, went in then around 20 mins later i went out to go home.

I disarmed the alarm as usual and tried to start the car but only the dash lights came on, the car didnt even try and turn over. I tried a few more times to start it but to no avail. when i put the key in the ignition it starts to beep and the led is red rather than green as it would be when the car would start.

The alarm is a toad ai606.

Anyone have any ideas on how to sort it?

thanks

My MKIII Supra has a Toad Ai606 alarm. You should have a little card that has a four digit PIN number on it. That card will explain how to disarm the alarm using the ignition key in case of a Fob failure. New fobs are available at £40 each if you need one. I got mine from Unique Car Sound & Security Ltd (Lightwater, Surrey) 01276 474900. I have a fax from Toad that contains the disarm procedure in more detail and on how to programme the fobs/radio keys. I hope this has been of help mate :)

The only way you can get the four digit pin number is to return the unit to Toad themselves to have it reprogrammed :(

oh dear, im guessing thats going to be expensive.

Is there any other way i can get around this? or would it be better for me to get it chopped out?

would an alarm specialist be able to sort this out for me?

Is the led turning orange? You stated kind of red. Because mine went orange, and only thing to get it started again was to cut the whole entire thing out :(

saying that i think it might have been orange?

i got a quote from an auto electrician earlier to chop the immobilzer out. He said it would be around £70.00. 2hours work, £40 for the first hour and then £30 for any hours after that. Does this sound like a fair price?

Cheers

are you going to replace the alarm ? if so it could be cheaper if its removed by whoever fits your new one :D

its no big deal. my 606 played up. there are only 4 imobbliser circuits and its easy to sort

one will be chopped in near passenger side footwell near door. they chop into the original fuel pump immobiliser.

the wire from that rruns down the passenger side sill. the other comes from under the ignition. the other will be a mercury switch for movement, normally under the glovebox.

send me your email and i will mail you the engineers manual

all the immobiliser circuits are black wires quite thick. 8 altogether 2 for each circuit

If i bought a fob from ebay, where could i get it programmed?

I currently only have one fob and one key and would quite like to get another as a back up.

anyone with any suggestions on alarm specialists or auto electricians who will be able to help me out?

I wasnt planning on putting a different alarm in to be honest, just wanting to get this one to work lol.

thanks

quick update, not necessarily good news though. i found the 4 digit pin number to allow me to disarm the alarm. i followed the procedure and it made a long beep as if it had worked but i couldn't start the car and when i have the key in the ignition it just makes an intermittent beeping with the led still orange/red.

it then wouldnt let me lock the car as usual, it would flash the indicators but make no chirp and wouldn't arm the central locking as usual?

any ideas guys?

remedies or an auto electrician/alarm specialist to chop the f**cker out in my local area.

cheers
