DaveK
I've been asked to figure out why a navigation system suddenly won't allow navigation. It's a Navgo, but doesn't seem to have any model number. It uses an SD card - and the reason it's not navigating is very clearly because the maps have disappeared. The SD card simply contains a folder now called FOUND.000 and that's full of FILE001.CHK, FILE002.CHK etc. all dated 12/01/09. I don't suppose anybody knows where I can get maps for this? I've used Google but not had much luck.
ivan
Sounds like someone may have booted their PC with the SD card plugged in it on Monday then.
DaveK
Sounds like someone may have booted their PC with the SD card plugged in it on Monday then. Not sure how they managed to do it. After an evening of searching, I did make some progress. I discovered that the Navgo is in fact the same unit as the Navigo SY885, just with a different name - and that the SD card should contain the actual navigation software, and not just the maps. I found an upgrade which means the navigation software does start now when you press the button. But, it can't load the maps because the upgrade only included some map updates and not the actual maps themselves. I spent the evening searching but couldn't find the maps - although I think they were available on bit torrent but I don't use that. So I think I'm ready to hand it back - and at least I can say I know why it didn't work, it now gets further than it did - and as long as the maps are re-installed it should work. In fact - a lot of sites I found last night suggested that the actual Navigo had a CD with maps on it - so I wonder if they've got one of those and just neglected to mention it to me! DJButler
i got rid of the navigo software and replaced it with tom tom all runs from the sd card On that note, anybody tell me how to clone a SD card?.
DaveK
i got rid of the navigo software and replaced it with tom tom all runs from the sd card I know that's possible - but she was happy with the navgo stuff. Plus, it would mean using illegal tom tom s/w or paying more than the navgo cost to get a legal copy. It would be cheaper to go and buy a new unit. Guest smc100471
Hi can you let me know where you founbd the software? I bought one of these systems ages ago from ebay and had a problem with my Software so I returned the card but was never sent a replacement... I'd like to try to get this thing working! I think you can use any maps once you have the software working!
