Chris Wilson
Probably well before most people on here's time, but does anyone know anyone in. or associated with the band Hawkwind, in particular Dave Brock? I have just found out he has a litter mate of one of our dogs, and I trying to keep in touch with as many other owners as I can. I'd ask the breeder, but it's a long story.... Ark
I've heard their music before. That doesn't really help though, sorry.
Ewen
Great band. Had absolutely loads of hits and it was called Silver Machine. You could do worse than contacting the web site [email protected]
Tricky-Ricky
Never had you down as a Hawkwind fan Chris:eyebrows: Oh! and their second album was the best, Masters of The Universe;)
Chris Wilson
I only just recall them, and then only by that Silver Machine track. But anyone who buys a Komondor can't be all bad I have posted on their forum (Jeez, I'm a rock groupie at 54....), asking if anyone knows about this pup, and also e-mailed the web site (cheers Ewen). Chris Wilson
The power of e-mail! Kris Brock, Dave Brock's wife, rang me 10 minutes or so after posting to the Hawkwind forum and was on the blower for an hour. Charming lady, not at all as I would have expected, having had a look at their web site and on You Tube She's sent me pics of the "Hawkwind Tour Dog", who's called Golly, and is our Archie's brother. Hoping to meet them soon, must get the recipe for LSD off Google Wonder how long it'll take me to grow a pony tail.....?

Andy-No-Knee
Lemmy from Motorhead used to be in them, and was the singer on Silver Machine. Which really fekked the band off as it was the only song he ever sung on and was thier biggest hit!

Which really fekked the band off as it was the only song he ever sung on and was thier biggest hit! Lies! (Well, slightly). Lemmy sung on quite a few of their earlier songs. 'Lost Johnny' & 'You Better Believe It' off the 'Hall Of The Mountain Grill' album spring to mind. He also wrote and sang the song 'Motorhead' with Hawkwind before using that as his own bands' name after being kicked out for getting busted with drugs(!) Animal
I just wish I could have seen them on their infamous 1972 Space Ritual tour. That's got to be my favourite album by them. Unfortunately I was born in '73. Have seen them quite a few times since, though.
Chris Wilson
Had a bit of time to Google and You Tube them later last night, I am not quite sure if my local is QUITE ready for them yet.... As for the neighbours, I think they gave up worrying about things going on here long ago Another pic of Golly has been sent. (So named because they grow a coat like a Rasta I can only assume...PC presumably isn't their strong suit, which is refreshing these days).
