caliAl
Returned home from a week’s holiday last night to find the patio door smashed through with a brick and loads of stuff taken including 2.5k worth of Jewellery, the girlfriend has taken it real hard. It’s a horrible feeling knowing that someone has been in our house and helped themselves to our belongings which we’ve worked so hard for. Looking to invest in some home security, anyone got any recommendations?
Mike
Jeeze, some horror stories tonight...! Did you have insurance?
Tom
Damn that sucks, someone obviously knew you was going to be away I know the first thing I'd be doing it's backtracking and finding out 'who' you let know you were going. I think Michael has a pretty neat home security set up so he can probably help
Mike B
Jeeze, sorry to hear.. we had to put in iron bars on the enside of ours for the same reason. ornamental looking, but you can't get through them. sorry to hear that bud, it's a horrid feeling I know, but it will fade eventually. I just found 2 guys cutting the ends of a container off to get a quad bike out at home. The made off across the fields with the dog in pursuit but it's the damage and hassle they cause. Homer
I know the feeling mate, it's horrible to know that some scumbag has gone through your home and all you possessions. you're obviously already on it, but you need to really upgrade your home security - decent burglar alarm, etc... It's a fact that you are many times more likely to get burgled again in the next 6 months (as I was). Bignum on here does something in home security cameras, but I am sure there's others who specialise in other home security.

DaveK
If you do decide to fit an alarm (which would seem to be a good idea) Emin (Supra ST Myster) has his own alarm company. He's due to give me a quote on Monday.
caliAl
Cheers guys. We're fully insured, so just hope that we don't have any issues with the claim. We put so much into this house and now we're back to square one. The girlfriend has been crying on and off all day and she’s 4 months pregnant so really does not need this. Burglar alarm is defo on the cards but not sure which ones are any good. Not sure I could continue to live here if it happened again.
