Syed Shah
Not ideal, but useable. Would be nice to compare more directly with a Soarer with a Torsen. Oh, straight line, despite quite rubbish tires, it now out-launches the Supra!
Scoboblio
If you were to install one of these on a TT auto with open diff, would you need to install any method of diff cooling to go along with it?
Nic
If you were to install one of these on a TT auto with open diff, would you need to install any method of diff cooling to go along with it? I think if you did TRD would specify/supply a diff cooler but they don't. They do particular oil for it though see here
Scoboblio
Thanks Nic..... I'm mega tempted by this now, to be honest I've always felt a bit short changed driving such a beast of a car without a LSD

TRD Limited Slip Differential for 1993-98 Supra TT Auto & All Supra N/A ITEM # TR 41301-JS401 Upgrade your LSD with this piece from TRD. Guest Terry S
Guys The A style diff is the small diff. Buy the TRD Auto diff from the USA. The B style is the large one,, so buy the 6 speed diff from the US. All 6 speeds have B type except the VVTi which is A All Auto's have the A type except the UK's which AFAIK are B type. An open diff can be changed to LSD this way. We can supply & fit these diffs a very reasonable rates

Guest Terry S
for what drag racing?? I like it but then I always loved MK2 Escorts with plate LSD's. There is less slip, but it makes the car a handful in the wet. In the dry in theory it has more traction, but it doesnt help on launches believe me. Guest Cosmic Chaos
No Cosmic, a TT Soarer with open diff to the TRD. Oh, and I have a direct comparison to the Torsen in the TT Supra. The TRD is better, simple as that, though of course the difference v Torsen is smaller than difference v an open diff. Yes, there is a TRD diff for auto Supras/Soarers. My Soarer is an auto. It is more snappy, I have not tried in proper wet weather, but in the damp I definately agree with Terry. Though as long as you bear it in mind, it is nothing to worry about. i daily drive a BMW M3 (E36) and a BMW M5 (E39). They both have clutch type LSD (same type as TRD) which is 25% locking. And i obviously own a TT supra with the torsen... well... i *definately* like better the torsen in track curse. much more smooth when the traction is to the limit and the back begins to swing out. I rekon the BMW have slight better straight-line traction, but as soon as you encounter corners the supra end becomes much more predictable, i definately love the torsen
Syed Shah
The TRD is a plate diff. It is, in the right hands, more capable that the Torsen round corners, simple as that. You may simply prefer the Torsen as it is easier to handle.
