Track day insurence

http://www.bookatrack.co.uk have some good companies they recommend, ask on there. To be honest, anything really worthwhile will be very costly, so unless you have something very exotic it's probably best to just take care (especially at Oulton, if you haven't driven it before :)) Who's running the day?

I will take a look cheers chris, humm iam not sure whos running it :) its a friend of mine who has got the place for me. and i will be taking care :D

Competitiion car insurance aka Egger Lawson are the only place that do it really. You choose how much value you want (i.e. the max they will pay out) and the amount of excess. Obviously the less the excess and the more the value the more expensive it gets.

Cheers for that buddy, Ill take a look in the morning, Because At the end of the day i think its worth getting insurance as even if your driving safe there will always be some numpty going round like a knob

I guess it depends where you're going. If it's an airfield day I wouldn't bother, there's nothing to hit except other people and if you drive sensibly you'll never be in a position where you could hit anyone. On a track it's a bit different, depending on the track. I didn't bother at Silverstone as there's masses of runoff, but I did at Castle Combe and was glad of it since I nudged it into the tyre barrier at Quarry!

Definitely worth checking the small print too, I think competition car insurance only cover the rolling chassis, so if you destroy your engine they won't cover that.

MORIS insurance was the one I got a quote off, http://www.moris.co.uk/

Sky are currently looking at offering some sort of trackday cover but this is in the early planning stages. We recommend the company above (MORIS).

The thing to watch for is the excess on the policy, sometimes they can be more than the car is worth.. A lot of people I know do trackdays on a 'bend it, you mend' basis.
