Regarding the rich sheik, well it's his money and he can do what he wants with it. He probably has every car imaginable, a mansion in every country, and a fleet of private jets. Now he has his own football club and wants the best players and is willing to pay for them. Boollocks to football and what it represents to the fans. Philanthropist he is not.

Yup as hoggers says, bollocks to football. The game is already in ruins, with the gap between the 'big' teams and the rest is growing ever larger. As a Norwich fan life in the Championship is tough, and its really hard to get out of. But worse is when you do get out its nigh on impossible to compete in the Prem. No player is worth half a million pounds a week. No player is worth one fifth that.

Respect to you for not falling for one of the 'Big Four' like so many so-called football fans do, relying on some lame excuse for doing so (eg visiting your uncle in Liverpool once does not mean you can be a proper Liverpool fan!).

Stick with it mate, after all unless you sell your soul to the devil you have no choice! Supporting a team that is lower down the divisions has its advantages. It means victories - when they come - are sweeter, it means you always have hope hunger and desire, and that's a good thing. You can also stand at football matches (how I long to stand and sing without being told to shut up and sit down) and you don't have to pay a fookin fortune to get in.

going off topic here but im a sheff wednesday fan and i would HATE to support of of the big premiership teams. Ok wednesday were there about 15 years ago but we aint any more. I long for the day these millionares piss off and the big clubs are left with players with massive pay packets that they cant get rid of because nobody can afford to buy them. And the clubs cant afford to pay them. Exactly what happend with us with Carbone and DiCanio and a few others. A few years later and we are down 2 divisions with a 40 000 seater stadium and still pulling in 2-3 times the crowds of other teams. I personaly cant see that happening if chelsea or man u were in the same position.

I remember one game Wednesday took more away fans to the other teams ground than their own teams fans. :p

Erm.... anyway what was i taking about?

as a Man City fan and season ticket holder for 20 years i really have to agree, i stoped buying the season ticket a couple of years back due to the drivel a certain Mr Pearce was serving up and a general disilusion with premiership football and all the diving and cheating, no one can call me a fair weather fan as i kept buying the season ticket all the way down to Div 2 and watched us win at Wembley in the play off final, i fear the prem has become another Scottish league, i have no idea where all this money will take City, i would not be in the slightest bit surprised if we get relegated :D, the best times at City have been when we have been battling for promotion as you go every week and actually have a realistic chance of winning something, then you finally get back to the "promised land" of the Prem to mid table obscurity with the best you can hope for is 1 good result against one of the "big 4" :(. I do hope City are successfull but somehow being a pesimistic City supporter i just know its all going to go Pete Tongue any day now :D
