Beard Maintanence

I need some suggestions for facial hair/beard maintanence devices!

I've had a goatee for a few years, and have always had my girlfriend or mum trim it for me as I don't trust myself with scissors around my face! :D I feel the need for more independance, so investing in a trimmer would be more convenient than relying on someone else to do it!

I saw an advert for a trimmer that was digitally adjustable for trimming facial hair, but cannot remember what it was or who made it?!

How many of you have facial hair and how do you maintain it? And does anyone know of this trimmer of which I speak??

That looks quite good, however by 'mains clipper' I presume it needs a plug? One of which my bathroom does not have :(

Why do you need to do it in the bath room? Try spicing things up by trimming in the bedroom once in a while? You may find that you and your partner enjoy it more? :D

(sorry I'm losing the plot today, I hate Wednesdays)

Because that's where the mirror is :p

Plus I wouldn't want to get hair trimmings in my carpet :D

And this might solve your hair trimmings concerns or stop you getting shouted out by your other half when you litter the sink with hair in the morning...

Just to clear things up, I live at home (with parents) so my other half only sees me randomly in the week, and on weekends. My dad is always leaving mustache trimmings in the sink, so maybe my trimmings will go un-noticed and blend in! :p

michael - are you the king of finding things?! Nothing can escape your grasp! :D

My beard maintenance is to let it all grow for about 4 days, then shave it all off.

Years ago, I used to have a 'weekend goutee'. I'd let the stubble grow all week and at the weekend just shave what's there into a neat little goutee, for social events, and then shave it off sunday evenings. That worked quite well, as it was so easy to do. :)

I also used to wear ladies underwear, just like my old papa.

Think I'm sold on this one! Looks like it has everything I needed...

Remington High Precision Trimmer Grooming Kit PG400

Not a bad price either :)

I bought that one from Argos a few months ago, I'm sure it was cheaper. Excellent unit - I had a few others before that but chose this one as my old units wouldn't hold a charge that long. This one last several weeks between charges and doesn't require oiling.

When I had my beard I used my Scherna clippers which were around £40. Also dead good for doing hair cuts and trimming pubes (just writing what everyone else was scared to :D). I found scissors to be a waste of time, also using a razor never seemed to work. Probably depends on your facial hair and the style of it.
