brake booster servo hose one way valve?

Hi guys

 

Can anybody answer a question for me.

 

Does the TT supra brake booster/servo hose (from the inlet to booster) have a one way valve inside the hose.

 

The reason I ask is that I have done a N/A Turbo conversion and would like to upgrade the booster pipe if it does indeed have a one way valve in it.

I'm not sure what you mean, but wouldn't a 1-way valve in the system mean you could apply the brakes but then not be able to release them?

 

I'm sure someone who knows about these things will be along shortly.... and I shall learn something. ;)

I found this on a Lexus forum so basically this is why I'm asking about the one way check valve and was wondering if the TT has the one-way check valve.

All vac servo systems have a one way valve in the servo vacuum line, otherwise as soon as the engine stopped producing intake vacuum the servo would stop working. SOME turbo cars have a different valve to N/A ones, but I THINK the MKIV uses the same one. The difference, where it occurs, is the turbo type may be designed to see high positive pressure on the engine side of the valve without the hoses blowing off, or the valve leaking, but i have never had an issue with standard N/A valves on different cars when the engine is super or turbocharged.

Top man Chris... thanks for your answer. I knew someone would know what I'm banging on about.

 

I just found on the N/A-T forum this: "The GE has a brake booster check valve. Its installed on the large vac line between the intake and brake booster."

 

But thanks for clarifying that I will be safe to use my N/A brake booster hoose.

I'll sleep easy in my bed tonight thanks again.
