Wez
Hey All, I have been speaking to Cosworth about 2JZ-GTE pistons. These would not be the older JUN design but a much newer forging. £750 per set +VAT The price includes six pistons( 86.00mm, 86.50, or 87.00mm) with rings, pins, clips, skirt coating, anti det bands and polished crowns. Will the gudgeon pin diameter be the same as stock? 22mm pin same as stock Would the valve relief be large enough for +1mm valves? Max valve size allowed is 33mm Inlet, 28mm Exhaust Is the compression height same as stock? Compression height is same as stock Anymore questions let me know and I will fire them at Cosworth. So whos interested, need a min 8 sets? 01. Wez 02. Wez 03. 04. 05. 06. 07. 08. Edited January 31, 2010 by Wez (see edit history)

Wez
Interested, if the price is right. I wonder if they would do a low compression option? It will depend on how many people go for it, I will try and firm up some prices by the end of the week based on the interest in this thread. Sharpie
One question, why straight to 87mm and not to 86.5mm ? Is it not a new block, should you need to re-bore after 87mm ?
DannoSupra
I'm interested

Thats what I thought, I have a 87mm bored block that took 86.95, pistons. I was told it would take a slight hone otherwise re-sleeve or new block. Wez
Cosworth have replied and said they could do both an 86.5mm, 87mm and low compression version from the same batch with enough notice and details supplied. How does that sound?

dandan
Wez - I'm kind of interested but am some way from starting a new engine so please don't count on me. Do you know if the compression height will be the same as the stock pistons and also will the gudgeon pin diameter be the same as stock?
