j80leo
If you have Sky+ and upgrade to HD do they take your old box away? No they don't you have an option if you want to have the sky+ box put upstairs as multi room
Rob
No, they harangue you to have it another room for a bargain extra £10 a month.

The Raven
Im still waiting for the HD channels to be free. My understanding is you have to pay an extra 10 a month for the hd channels?
michael
Cheers, I had a Google but didn't do so well with my results. I'm not actually getting HD at the moment, just the HD box as a posh Sky+ one - my current box is the original Sky+ offering so has a small disc and none of the newer features like on demand etc. I just have a few things on the current box that I haven't watched yet so I was hoping I could hook it up and watch them at some point. merckx
My understanding is you have to pay an extra 10 a month for the hd channels? And that's £10 extra for each hd box which is extortionate.
Al Massey
And that's £10 extra for each hd box which is extortionate. no its not, you just pay the £10 subscription a month and can have as many HD boxes as you want as you dont pay extra for multi room
nickball75
I looked on the website as they are doing a special offer on HD. for £160 quid you can have a sky HD box (including installation) but when you go to order, it automatically selects multiroom, wether you like it or not!! you can t de select it. So although its only £160 quid, its then another £20 for HD subscription and multiroom. I think its over £200 for the HD box if you dont take out the multiroom. The Raven
Im still not paying for the box, then another 10 per month. Much like sky+ when it first came out. Sooner or later they will drop the £

Sooner or later they will drop the £10 Hope so, dying to get this myself. And I know that they offer great deals for new customers, ie, free subscription, but leave existing customers paying for it. Just be my luck, I'll get it, then they will cut the price and I'll end up paying for it for the rest of my HD viewing days!
merckx
no its not, you just pay the £10 subscription a month and can have as many HD boxes as you want as you dont pay extra for multi room Edit: Are you sure? Google suggests that you do have to pay an extra £10 for an additional HD box along with the multiroom additional cost.

New SKy HD box ... £49.00 Full installation (Spanky new dish with quad LNB, all new cables from HD box to dish, existing SkyPlus box relocated to compter room and cabling to suit) ... £10.00 Half price HD channels for 6 months ... £5 / month
Jay_vr6
And i thought i'd done well with only paying £50 for my hd box, although i did only pay the £21 a month sub, they tend to be more helpful if you have sports channels or movies on you subs. anyway Hd is very very nice and i look forward to some more channels

Have you checked the settings on your Sky+ box? There is an option in one of the menus to turn Sky Anytime on and off. Might be worth a look first. Swampy442
Im gonna call later and try the "Im leaving" trick and see what happens I could do with Sky HD. What really get me though is that new subscribers get the sweet deals, yet people like me who have been with sky for years paying the full package get nothing, not even a free + box

The Raven
Sky always give in to me when i tell them im leaving. They even once asked all the details of the veiwing card and payment details before caving in and giving me half price everthing for 6 months

Might be worth a look first. I've checked but my box is so old that it can't support these features - I signed up when Sky+ first came out, annoying really because newer subscribers got more for the same money and I'm having to pay for a new box just to get the features they offer now. Swampy442
Well got something, HD box for 99 quid + free install + 30 quid credit on my account. Or Sky+ for 49 quid and free install. Isnt there a forum member who works for Sky?
Ric
the new HD boxes only have a HDMI output now, not Componant afaik so make sure you can view the box if you are getting one
