supradriver
every now and again i get this bubbeling sound coming from my top rad house????? it sounds like a kettle has boiled. has any one come across this before? all coolent and oil are ok and car runs fine, just get the noise. i have thought that could it be that i am turning the car off to quickly instead of letting the turbos spool down? thanks for any ideas you may have:)
supra_aero
Airlock in the system? Or faulty thermostat?
Jamesy W
Whatever it is, get it looked at right away. A £20 thermostat, could end up costing you 50 times more.

Jamesy W
After a decent run, reach under and have a feel of the bottom rad pipe. New thermostats are £21 delivered with the rubber gasket.
Whitesupraboy2
I replaced my rad cap and my problem was gone as i was getting a similar noise.
Gaz6002
2 points - firstly the temp gauge on the Supra is extremely slow to react, so you may well could have overheated (especially if your coolant overflowed) I'd say you're looking at a fooked heater matrix, rad or thermostat. For your sake I hope it's the latter! Have you checked the passenger footwell for damp? Might be an idea to take out the 'stat and see if that helps, and also give your rad a thorough check over to see what condition it's in.
Rinus
had bubble problems... changed thermostat, waterpump... still bubbles... changed the rad for a very nice koyorad and no problems anymore

Jamesy W
which is bad lol hot? or cold? Cold could suggest your stat is needing replaced. Which in terms of £££'s is the best case scenario

Jamesy W
Well have a check on the hose, then order the cap, and the stat if necessary. Try not to drive it till it's mended though mate. I gave mine one to many trips, then on the way to having the stat fitted on Saturday I blew my head gasket.
