I m just curious to know if there is anyone on this forum running an Autronic ecu on their supra??? I ve got one and I m finding it hard to get support for their products. I ve got an Autronic SM4 and a 500R CDI system waiting to be installed on my T61 single supra.

I expect though that money talks, if you have the ECU already he'll probably map it...

SM4 and the CDI unit are fine systems. Its rediculous to just ditch it for another ECU, they work perfectly well, Autronic should give you a list of authorised tuners in the UK.

I would still talk to the guy mentioned above as the ViPec was designed by the same guy as the Autronic so he should be more than happy to setup and tune your car. Even the tuning screen is the same to use.

I run an Autronic S4 on my Supra and once the ECU was installed and the idle controller was sorted, for a Mazda part, we had the car up and running and with a good tune in 2hrs aprox. My Tuner specializes in Microtech ECU's but after fitting the Autronic to my Supra ( his first contact with this brand ) he has decided to get and fit one to his Supra. The Autronic S4 has many good features and the Traction Control works a treat and puts my 340rwKw to the ground without any twitching and movement even over rough or wet surfaces. When its turned off things get fairly exciting which proves to me how well it works.

Definately dont get rid of the Autronic as Im sure you will be very pleased once up and running.

I just used a field harness I bought when I had my Emanage and wired the Autronic to that. Now I can just unplug and refit the stock ECU if I need. Price wise last time I looked the ViPec was more expensive. Both the Autronic and ViPec are certainly not cheap or entry level ECU's but they certainly do the job.

Cheers

Darren

Adi is going to have a bit of a problem when it comes to getting it mapped by somebody in the UK, as he lives in India;)

Surprised you didn't go for the Solaris Ecu, or is it down to getting somebody to map it, or are you thinking of doing it yourself?

I hadnt heard of the Solaris when I got the AUtronic. I m going to have to fly over an Autronic dealer/tuner from Malaysia to install and tune the ECU. Bit of a pain but I havent managed to get the EMU to work spot on myself so I thought I d just get it done by a professional to avoid future issues.

Well I'd already gathered he'd have to fly someone in...

When AEM's were new mappers were flown in from the states, Dimitri was flown in etc etc...

The SM4 is a fine choice. Very robust.
